Street photography Shanghai, China 2020-01-26

See a lot of people asking what it's like in Shanghai or China in general. Pictures generally tell other stories than text, take from this what you will.

All these photos are taken in Jing'an (a central area of Shanghai) in the afternoon/evening. The general mood i got was that people are aware and careful but life goes on as usual. The streets were way more quiet than usual, consider that it's Chinese New Years and a lot of people travel. The food-courts and the supermarkets were quite lively. During the whole day i only saw a handful of people without masks.

It was both exciting and nervous going out, on one side it was a bit of and adventure stepping into a bio-hazard zone, which considering all the movies and games consumed during my years have quite the potential for adventure. The other side of it was a reality where i don’t know whether all i’ll get is a cold or something worse.
